A giant thank you to all who skied and enjoyed Vallecito this year! Also a extra special thank you to ALL who donated membership, money, time and energy to make our area so special.
The grooming equipment will be taken to “storage’ this weekend. Howeve please note that skiing on the crust on the beach remains good. Also the groomed trails are not bad…just a few thin areas and holes so continue to enjoy as long as you wish.
We will be having a general “end of the year” meeting at the Recreation Center on 3-25-09 at 5:30 p.m. in the EOlus Room. I hope to see EVERYONE who loves skiing at this area there to help us close the season and set goals for next season!

We’ll groom Monday in the morning but we won’t get too carried away since it may rain. Thanks to Jake for Grooming every Sunday. He had to fill in some big ruts today and he even did some shoveling. Thanks for your diligence. –Rob

Want everyone to know that the skiing is fantastic! The groomers continue to communicate and groom when they think it is necessary. Come out and ski as we do not know when we will get more of the white stuff! Just hope it does not get too warm…too soon! So far I hear our grooming is the best! Diane

I did a light grooming on Wed night (2 laps). It was beginning to get a little icy and windblown in sections on the lake. We were hoping for more snow but it didn’t come. It should be good skating on Thurs AM. The classic skiing is best on the road due to windblown tracks along the lake. We’ll be grooming on Fri and this weekend. –Rob

Those who ventured to Vallecito today were treated to great skating and classic skiing. Thanks Ron, Matt and Jake for grooming this weekend. I groomed tonight (Sun night) so holiday skiers will have fresh corduroy and more classic tracks. Enjoy. –Rob

Ron worked hard yesterday to widen the trails so it is currently in really good shape. Thanks Ron! But more snow is coming today (2″-5″). There is a trace-1/4″ at Vallecito now (7:40 am). Ed might be out later in the day to groom this new light snow. We’ll groom again Sunday am. Looks like winter is back. Thanks to everyone who continue to make this possible: Donors, volunteers, spouses of volunteers and Forest Service. –Rob

It should be great on Wednesday with the overnight freeze. Come on out and enjoy! We hear there is more on the way for this weekend……Nick
